Making a plan
We need to have only one or a few words in our plan. The plan has to be about the topic. It needs 3 or more ideas. When we use the plan to do our writing, we need to write 2 or more sentences about each idea. The plan helps us to remember what happened. We need to start and end our writing with a sentence about the topic.
I feel good about my writing because I have got better at using the plan. I have also got better at knowing where the full stops and capital letters go.

Counting on and down from the bigger number
I know how to count on and down from the bigger number. We have to start at the number after to count on and the number before to count down. I find it easy to count on and down.

Counting on from the bigger number
We are learning to count on from the bigger number. We have to start at the number after the bigger number. Then we have to look at the other number to know how many more to count. It is easy for me to count on from the bigger number.

Finding root words
We are learning about root words. They can end with either s, ed, or ing. When you put different letters at the end, that makes new words like-- looking, looks and looked. I find it easy to make new words with root words.

Our Poupou
For one of our art projects we learnt to draw a poupou. Poupou are traditionally a wooden carved Maori statue. Poupou tell the stories of the meeting house, the local iwi and the iwi's ancestry. We sketched our Poupou and then painted them using cotton buds and dye. We learnt about symmetry and proportion.
